Recently, the relation between Ndop council and Mr. Jules Famawa François who has distributed books to students and pupils of the Municipality and the provision of 03 boreholes to Ndop, Bamunka and Bambalang is an added impetus of Ndop council cooperation. We heartily thank him for this humanitarian gesture and remark that the return of a few students in this education turbulent period is the result of his move.

We also thank the Cameroon National youth president and that for Ngoketunjia for their continuous lobby from donors to improve the lifestyle of the local population.

Despite the political, social and financial crises of the living time, Ndop Council under the puppet of the lord mayor have been able to realise colossally, a handful of persuasive projects, Regular payment of Staff Salary which other councils are not able to meet up with, Construction of classrooms, rehabilitation of some roads in the Municipality, Recruitment of Teachers and Nurses to help our population, Construction of bridges, culverts and gutters in the Council Area, the supply of council water, All BIP projects of the first semester of 2017 were launched, executed and completed, support end of year cultural manifestation of the various fondoms of the Municipality, support to farmers in the form of farm inputs, sustainable pig program to empower youths.

The Mayor has also participated in the working sessions with the Argentina Ministry of Labour and Social Security to best understand and see how decentralization and success story of the country is done and evaluate if this could be implemented in Cameroon. This trip was originated by the Hon. Minister of Employment and Vocational Training. At the end of this working visit, Mayors in assignment decided projects that will benefit their communities.

Most delightedly, Ndop Council was chosen as a pilot centre for the creation and implementation of vocational training and office of employment, this being the fruit of partnership between the Cameroon government and the government of Argentina. The Mayor has recently participated in the distribution of parliamentary grants with the Hon. Member of Parliament Hon. Njingum Musa in the four fondoms of the Municipality.

We sincerely applause and thank him for the gesture which depicts his concern and that of the government towards the wellbeing of the people.

A New Vision

Council Logo

Ndop council enjoys the privilege to have been the headquarters of the South Eastern Federation of Native Authorities created by the local administration in 1940.

The territory of the South Western Federation included the areas covered by Nkwen, Bafut and Nso. In 1960 the SEF territory was divided into two with the Nso Native Authority cut out of it and in 1961, the Bafut-Ndop Area Council was created.

The present Ndop council was created, along side the councils of Babessi, Balikumbat by Presidential decree that created the Ngokentunjia Division out of Ngokentunjia Division. Eventually, Bafut and Tubah were taken away and the territory now known as Ngoketunjia Division.
